  • UserPenaltiesMon Jun 06, 2022 11:38 am
Is it just a matter of booting with the different hard drive or is it something more complex?

That's cool, i didn't know you could dualboot systems like that.

well in 286 protected mode you can access up to 16mb of ram and on 386 and onwards you can use virtual memory (paging on a hard drive)

or hell maybe a lite distro of 98 could do

yeah a bit too fast for 3.1, windows 95 would probably be a better fit

there is some video on youtube titled "windows 3.0 on an 8088". It was quite interesting and covered how usable it was on an 8088. I liked that video very much. Actually that is the 86box channel.

there were times in 3.1 the music stuttered (repeated one note) when i played some midi files
  • dvd3000Mon Jun 06, 2022 11:32 am
ok when i get home im gonna look up some midi software and try to recreate it
  • UserPenaltiesMon Jun 06, 2022 11:31 am
instead of just increasing the time interval of the rate at which it plays the music

dvd3000 wrote: Mon Jun 06, 2022 11:30 am cause its not just like "mp3 slowed down" its literally played slower
yeah i get you, like it gets stuck on one note for longer
  • dvd3000Mon Jun 06, 2022 11:30 am
i know nothing about midis so idk how to recreate it other than 86box on slow pc
