  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:50 pm
oh that sucks. i think i have a few flipphones with the headphone jack thats slightly smaller than standard so u can only plug in the special headphones idk

too bad the headphone jack is busted on the nokia - i mean it works but it needs it's own proprietary earphones (i can still find them but they are prob degrading). It does work just fine with headphones though which is just amazing, but they are too clumsy.

well you shoud totally make a page on your phones
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:48 pm
even tho 99% of my old phones "collection" is flipphones from 2004
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:48 pm
i might write a page similar to those youtube videos titled "USING [x operating system] IN [current year]"
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:47 pm
that makes me wanna do stuff with my old phones n stuff
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:47 pm
    that actually sounds awesome

i have got a lot of cool software on that old nokia phone though. Like i have gameboy (and color),game gear, master system, and NES emulators on it. Not to mention a web browser on which i actually sent a message on mchat (but it is too bad it does not update dynamically so i have to refresh for my message to show)
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:46 pm
i decided that i should get out my old android 2.3 phone and my nokia phone (which is probably the most OP nokia phone ever) and install gameboy emulators on them, web browsers, some youtube videos to watch offline, etc
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:45 pm
    well thats actually really cool
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:45 pm
So i turned on power saving mode, replaced my home launcher with a text based one (basically text shortcuts, imagine if your old homepage that you first made was a launcher basically) and lowered the resolution. I mean it does last A pretty damn long time compared to before, but that was not enough
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:44 pm
oh thats cool. i wanna try out that utility with what's left of my phone or something
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:44 pm
yeah too bad it's a lil blurry but it's probably worth. I am so frustrated with the heat that i literally just want to make this summer go away that i cannot even bear waiting for my phone to charge.
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:44 pm
its like peope who waste bandwidth watching 1080p on a 4 inch screen cause it "looks better!!!!111!!1"
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:43 pm
i also had to use USB debugging to do that but i just had to install a utility which is like a command line utility basically (if you are curious it is ADB)
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:43 pm
but yea you should, cause whats the point of hi res on the smallest screen youve ever seen in ur life
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:43 pm
didnt know you could do that
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:43 pm
it is a lil blurry but i do not mind
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:42 pm
i lowered it from the native 720x1440 resolution to 480x960
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:42 pm
but anyways today i have decided that i should lower my screen resolution on my phone manually to save battery life
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:42 pm
ok so i put a paperclip like metal thing and the phone weirldy fell into a position that is good enough for me so you know what i am not doing anything
  • dvd3000Thu Jul 21, 2022 12:41 pm
duct tape it to the desk
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:41 pm
funny thing about the resolution joke you made - i will talk about it AFTER I GET MY PHONE TO STOP FALLING
  • UserPenaltiesThu Jul 21, 2022 12:41 pm
    man my phone keeps falling
